New venue from the April meet onwards! February 6, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedWe are very pleased to announce that as from the April 09 Sling Meet, we will be meeting at the new Windmill Children’s Centre which is situated between Bursledon Infant and Junior Schools on Long Lane, Bursledon. This new venue provides us with a dedicated children’s play area to entertain the little ones and an adjoining room in which to lay out and try on all of the slings. We will also have the facilities to provide tea and coffee. Car parking is available on the road outside the schools, or in the car park at Great Down Park, which is on the opposite side of the road. The Children’s Centre is the white building, in the schools’ grounds, between the two school buildings. To get there on public transport, you need to get a train to Bursledon station (which is then about a 10-15 minute walk from the venue) or First bus routes 16A, 72, 78, 79 or 80 which all stop in Lowford (which is then around a 5-10 minute walk to the venue). To see the locations of the Children’s Centre, car parking, train station and bus stops, please click here. If you require further directions, please email us.
Going from strength to strength! February 6, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThe February Sling Meet was a big success. We were pleased to welcome 11 mums with their babies and toddlers and 3 of these mums took slings away with them from the library to try out at home. There was a lovely social atmosphere again and all of the children had fun playing together (see pics below!). The next meet will take place on Monday 2nd March – more details to follow.

January 2009 meet January 5, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThe January meet was much busier than our first meet and it was lovely to see so many local parents trying out some of the different carriers that are available. We have had another couple of hires from the library and we will be saving up the funds generated in order to extend the range of slings in the library in the future. If anyone has any slings lying around that they don’t use anymore and that they would like to donate to the library, we would be very interested in hearing from you! Our next meet will be on Thursday 5th February, 2009, from 1pm until 3pm, in the Cypress Room at St Paul’s Church, Bursledon. Look forward to seeing you there!

We have also had our first hire from the library. Our next meet is on January 5th, from 1pm until 3pm, at the same venue. We hope to see you there!
