Papoozle

The Papoozle consists of a clip-on waist band and two lengths of stretchy fabric which are passed over either shoulder and tied at the waist to give a carrier that gives a result much like a stretchy wrap.

We don’t currently have a Papoozle in the Sling Library. If you have a Papoozle that you no longer use and would like to donate it to the library, please email us.

The papoozle gives you the same kind of sling as a stretchy wrap but without quite so much tying involved due to the waistband. I found it easy to put on and very comfortable to wear as the wide shoulder straps sread the weight across your shoulder. The waistband is also wide and padded, and doesn’t dig into you the way I have found straps on some slings can (especially post baby when your midriff is not so slender as it once was..)
.
The only downside was that there are limited ways you can wear it compared to a wrap sling so I felt for the cost a wrap was more versitile. But if the tying of a wrap is putting you off then a papoozle would be a good compromise.
The tots bots website says it can be used on the front (upright), hip and breastfeeding but the instructions only show you on the front, and I couldn’t work out a way to breastfeed in it.
I personally don’t think it would be great for a small newborn as it didn’t seem quite secure enough at the side to stop them slipping.
