I bought a Bara Barn ring sling after trying one at the last meeting. Its making life much easier, I don't have to get the push chair out to go short distances and it was really useful for getting on and off the train to Cardiff on Monday, and taking Melody round the tour of the Mellenium stadium.
I'm still working on getting the fit right each time and having the ring in a comfortable position.

I hired the Bara Barn ring sling from the Sling Library to try out for a month. I used it to hip carry for my 17 month old who weighs around 22lb. The sling was easy to use but took me a few attempts to get the ring in the correct position. I found the sling comfortable and felt that Izzy was secure.

The Bara Barn ring shawl is a very comfortable ring sling to use. I found that the asymmetric design of the fabric meant that it was very easy to see which side of the tail I needed to pull to tighten the fabric either around my son's back or legs. I carried Finlay (13kgs) for around an hour on my back in this sling and although it wasn't as comfortable as a sling that spreads the weight over both shoulders, it was more comfortable than I was expecting. It is fab for hip carries when you just want to pop to a shop or similar with the older child.
