I was a bit slow on the uptake of slings after my son was born but boy was I glad when I found them! My son was 10 weeks when I purchased my moby and he was suffering with severe reflux. The stretchy wrap kept him upright which helped both of us loads. I was able to get on and do a few bits around the house whilst making him feel more comfortable. Living close to our local shops we also used it for short trips to get shopping too. I used the wrap until my son was about 7 months and only stopped then as he had begun to sag as he was a big boy. I did however still use it twice on holiday when he was 10 months to get him to sleep on the beach. He always seemed so comfy and cosy in it and so many people commented on how snug he looked. To start with it took a couple of goes to get the tie right but after that I was well way and no stopping me – quick tie, he was in and we were away.
I love this sling. A bit like the first poster I wish I had bought this sling earlier but I got one when he was 3 months. Look on u-tube for videos of how to tie – much easier than trying to read instructions.
I have only used it to carry him on my front but learnt a great tip at the sling meet today of how to put him on my back.
There is quite a bit of fabric around the baby so great in the winter for keeping them warm.
The best thing about a stretchy wrap is the way the weight is spread really wide over your shoulders which I find means I can carry him for ages. As mentioned above the fabric will sag more with an older baby so I think I will trade this in for a woven wrap when he is older.
The sling is just a long length of fabric so has many other uses – blanket on the pushchair, shawl to cover up when breastfeeding, etc etc…
not sure if that is a pro or a con!
I have had loads of comments whilst wearing this sling and my other half says lots of ladies talk to him while he is out using this sling
